In a nation founded by men and women of deep faith, dedication, and devotion, the antithesis has arrived. In the last two weeks, we have very troubling headlines, indeed, for those who wish to stand for Christ. Our nation is now dominated by those of no faith, self-devotion and dedication to the eradication of those who “believe.” We have a White House ruled by a President who boldly demands people of faith violate their faith under the command of the “almighty government” as they demand ALL EMPLOYERS (faith-based included) to provide contraceptives to their employees – via insurance. We have a Judicial System which can overturn the will of the people regarding the clear and moral stand against same-sex marriages as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned California’s “Proposition 8” which banned them. Our Congress is completely confused over the freedom of religion as evidenced by their deliberate and continuing stand against the use of the name of “Jesus” in opening prayers.
The secularization of all of these issues is beyond the pale, and dangerous beyond explanation. Yet, Christians should stand for the Word of God, pray for the Will of God, and walk in the Way of God – even if this country rejects it all together. Our citizenship is in Heaven first and in Heaven last. This US citizenship is only temporary. The way it’s going, that temporary might be shorter than we think. Even so, come quickly, Lord!
