Catholic pro-life groups are condemning a major pro-abortion vote cast by more than a dozen Catholic U.S. senators.

"The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil - 1Timothy 6:10"

It is not strange to see that several powerful people will forsake their nominal faith for their notorious power and money.  It seems to be the way of the world - and no new development in the faith community.  The church these days even lets money trump faith.  Oh, yes, when it comes to budgets and special offerings, churches want to look like they are operating on faith by making budgets exceed their expected income, and raising their offering goals and resting on faith to bring it in.  But is this really faith?  We bash the senators, while we say that money factors are the bottom line for the church.  Many ministries are brought to a halt because they are "too costly" - never mind that they are mandated by the Bible.  The gospel is watered down because the church's social standing (power) might be diminished if sin is preached against too harshly.  Oh, yes, I believe that this news report is not news.  I only wish that the same report can be printed about the churches that travel this same path.  May we all guard against letting money and power trump our faith!

Well said, Greg. Faith often takes a back seat to what is reasonable. Too often we limit God by our lack of faith and compromise belief for money/power/influence.
