Mississippi governor assailed for taking casino cash

A well-known southern governor running for re-election is under fire from his Democratic challenger over donations the governor has received from the gambling industry.

It seems like the state of Missouri has the typical parties flip-flopped – the Democrat is a conservative, and the Republican is a liberal. Goes to show you, you better not use "party" as a litmus test of candidates. Check each one out first. They'll hide behind false colors.

Wonder how the Dem stands on other issues (I.e., abortion, homosexuality, etc.) Will I need to write Mississippi off as another politically messed up state?
