'Anti-religious bigotry' in nation's capital (OneNewsNow.com)
It's official - immorality trumps everything! Social assistance for the poor, underprivileged, and helpless will just have to go by the wayside while our government officials promote immorality: homosexuality. Organizations that want to stand up against this, or at least not allow it in their organization, are now required by law to either embrace it or go out of business. It's only going to get worse, folks, if we don't start demanding change to these policies - or change to our politicians! Wake up, America! There may not BE and America before long!

These providers don't have to go out of business, they just won't be able to take government money (and the attached strings). True, much of their funding has come from tax dollars, but they always knew that with the money, comes conditions on how it's spent.
This will mean that they will have to do with less and that means helping fewer people; but it is hard to argue against socialism on the one hand and insist that the government provide money for social programs through charities on the other.
John,
Thanks for commenting... but did you read the article? It's not about government providing funding for Christian organizations, it's about government MANDATING that Christian organizations hire homosexuals - even when that goes against the tenants of the faith.
Take hospitals for instance. Or schools. Or churches. Would it be right to REQUIRE these institutions to hire homosexuals? For public schools, hospitals, or government, perhaps (though I disagree with that decision and do so strongly on many counts). Institutions forced to do this must close their doors or capitulate. That is the point.
Yes, it is immorality or bust!
The requirement only applies if they take government funds. It's as if the government says we'll help you help people but you have to change your organizational structure to match the structure of the government around you.
Religious organizations that remain completely without government ties (and monies) are not required to meet those hiring mandates.
Moody Bible Institutes (where my son is going) takes no government monies and students don't qualify for any government subsidized loans. This is to safeguard the integrity of the Institute. It does place a burden on students (and their parents!) but keeps the government from being able to attach those requirements that change the very fabric of the organizations.

The problem is that laws are being enacted in DC (federal and local) which require, under labor laws, organizations to hire people who may disagree with the stand of the organization. That means churches may have to hire secretaries, janitors, etc. - or even staff ministers - who are not in agreement with the articles of faith of that organization.
Don't be deceived into thinking that this is ONLY tied to the receipt of federal monies. It is not. It is becoming the law regarding hiring practices irrespective of whether or not the organization is church-related. Once these laws are final, Supreme Court rulings to the contrary will be irrelevant and no defense.
Watch the direction of Great Britain, Canada, and Europe. You will see how things are going to be for the US. Mark my words.
I am NOT trying to be "alarmist" - I am trying to be a realist. There is much in the headlines that reveal this direction. This article is only one of those.
The point of the article, however, is that the government will choose to mandate immorality as a condition for funding over a benefit to society. When they DO fund "social programs," those programs better come wrapped in a bow of immorality, or those who might be helped will remain helpless.
