Complaining Does No Good

Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The executive, legislative, AND judicial branches of our government have wrought for themselves absolute power – even as they try to wrest any checks and balances from one another – and so they are absolutely corrupt.  Every day, I look at the news to hear of some scandal, misdeed, favoritism, immorality, unethical behavior, illegalities, and misuse of public trust and/or funds.  There is simply no way to comment on all the stories because they come faster than I would have time to address them one by one.

I believe the greatest corruption has happened when we (the citizens of the USA) elected Obama to office while rejecting the policies, principles, and perseverance of G. W. Bush.  His values and Americas have simply demonstrated the desire of our nation to redefine freedom in any and all ways that are contrary to the definition of our founding fathers.  Our nation’s values have degraded and declined so that we call evil “good” and good “evil.”  Our corruption has even led to the rejection of the biblical mandate to “bless” Israel in favor of her “curse” as Obama has friends and cohorts in his advisory group which have consistently stood for the destruction of the “Apple of God’s Eye” – Israel.  Supporting Hamas, PLO, and other nations calling for the removal of Israel as a nation by demanding Israel give up her lands is ridiculous.  It is also hypocritical.  When portions of our own nation sought to break away, the Federal government through every ounce of resources at her disposal to prevent, crush, and dispose of such a “rebellion” by calling it “the war of Southern Aggression” – also known as our Civil War.  We killed our own.  Yet, we deny our best and only ally in the middle east the right to defend herself, protect her lands, and even expand to what God gave her in the first place.  Remember the “Manifest Destiny” of American History?  We thought we owned everything by simply “being there.”  It seems that’s STILL the view of the government.  They are in our pockets, homes, stores, markets, hospitals, schools, and even around the world in every part of the globe.  How can we consider our own past as better than the present of other countries who strive for peaceful resolutions and policies today which are similar?  Forbidding Israel to protect and preserve her boundaries while demanding she give up her land is downright unjust, unethical, and completely corrupt, as I see it.

Holler for Jesus,

Greg Yount
