Ok, folks, here it is. I'm growing weary of the ads from Claire McCaskill and Barack Obama regarding the issue of abortion. They are distorting things and blurring the lines of definition in order to confuse the American voter into thinking he/she is "over the edge" conservative. Here's a quote from an article that quotes Mr. Obama's ad (which, by the way, contains the same distortion as McCaskill ads in Missouri):
"Turns out, Romney doesn't oppose contraception at all. In fact, he thinks abortion should be an option in cases of rape, incest or to save a mother's life." (see: http://www.baptistpress.com/BPnews.asp?ID=38966)
So what's the big deal? They are declaring abortion to be a method of contraception. It is NOT! Abortion is murder – the destruction of human life. Contraception prevents conception – period. That is what's wrong with the "morning after" pill – it kills a conceived embryo. It is NOT a contraceptive; rather it is called an "abortifacient."
a·bor·ti·fa·cient
[uh-bawr-tuh-fey-shuhnt]
adjective
1. causing abortion. (See http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/abortifacient)
Please help me spread the word that these two terms, "abortion," and "contraceptive" do NOT mean the same thing! No one who has an abortion is simply taking a contraceptive measure. They are committing murder!
